Sound bites: Daft Punk premieres new hit single “Get Lucky”, Frank Ocean & Anna Kendrick debut music videos, The Lonely Island announces new album

Remember that oh-so-awesome snippet from Daft Punk’s upcoming new record Random Access Memories. Since then, the good have been delivered: the first single from the French duo’s followup album to 2005’s Human After All is titled “Get Lucky” and it features the classic electronic sound fused with lyrics from Pharrell Williams and wicked guitar plucks provided by Nile Rodgers. It’s predictably catchy and will have you foaming at the mouth for more where this came from. Download the single today at iTunes, and prepare to upgrade your RAM May 17.

And then there’s this: The Lonely Island is working on their third studio album titled The Wack Album, due out this summer. “We’re decidedly pumped to share another collection of our fake raps with the world,” said Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer in a press release. “We’ve heard the whole thing and there’s no denying, it exists.” They aren’t spilling much about their latest effort yet, but in an extensive interview with PaperMag (the image above is courtesy of that site) they confirmed that their last SNL Digital Short “YOLO” featuring Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar will be on the album along with “a G-funk-inspired song, and another titled “Spell It Out.” In addition, the boys announced their first live show; they will be performing their hits (and maybe some new material?) at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on July 15th. Presale starts May 2 at Etix.
