Video game trailers: ‘GTA V’ & ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’

With every passing trailer, Rockstar’s next installment in the lucrative Grand Theft Auto franchise looks better and better. This brand spankin’ new clip clocks in at a lengthy 3:53 and is organized by playable protagonist. There’s rich but miserable Michael, caught up in the hood Franklin, and hillbilly Trevor. GTA V releases for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17; preorder today.

Get introduced to the next game in the Call of Duty franchise after the break.

Unfortunately this clip doesn’t contain single morsel of in-game footage but it will suffice as it grandiosely introduces the next Call of Duty from Infinity Ward subtitled Ghosts. According to a press release issued by Activision, “Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise. The new title delivers a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast of characters, all powered by a new, next generation Call of Duty engine that redefines the series for the next generation.” Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin added, “Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels. We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.”

Ghost releases for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 5; preorder today. A first look at gameplay will be shown off to the public during Microsoft’s Xbox reveal event on May 21.
