J.J. Abrams & ‘Infinity Blade’ developer collaborate on new video game ‘SPYJINX’

Play video games? Dig the curious mind of director/producer J.J. Abrams? Well, here’s an excitingly fresh piece of news for you. Abrams (LOST, Star Wars)–who previously struck a deal with Valve–is teaming up with Infinity Blade developer ChAIR to produce a game called SPYJINX. Here’s what we know so far:

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, SPYJINX is a unique mix of action strategy gameplay, dynamic world building and RPG character development – all set in a thrilling, treacherous world of espionage.

As is tradition in the world of Bad Robot, juicy details surrounding the upcoming title are being closely guarded for now. SPYJINX is expected to roll out on PCs and mobile devices during its 2016 launch, and the plan is for the game to hit consoles sometime thereafter. Gamers are invited to sign up for the beta now to help the developers shape the game and work out the kinks.

Tron Armchair composed of ‘digital’ rock

In collaboration with Disney and seating manufacturer Cappellini, New York-based designer Dror Benshetrit has focused all his Tron: Legacy excitment and created this awesome Tron-inspired armchair.

Dror’s mission on this project was to articulate the complex meaning of objects in the simplest of ways; their uses becoming a part of their narratives, expressed in transformations that are both metaphorical and literal. Raw data forms a jag and angular landscape for the chair, which is comprised of intersecting layers and textures of ‘digital’ rock. The armchairs will be constructed from composite materials that consist of impregnated fiberglass with polyester resin, processed with manual layering.

Each armchair produced will be individually hand-finished by the designer and they’ll be presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in April 2011.  There’s no word on price or release date, but mass production is being promised.  Um, I want one of these now!  Look in the gallery below to browse through the multiple funky color options.

Expandable chair made entirely of recycled paper and wood

The FlexibleLove chair, designed by Chishen Chiu, combines an “accordion-like, honeycomb structure” and recycled paper and wood waste to form an expandable chair than can stretch and fold to make various seating arragements.  The company calls it “ecological, adaptable, practical” and I couldn’t agree more.  I want one!  Look after the break for a video of it in action.

Ferrari F1 lounge chair

Molded by Hungarian designer Alexander Christoff, this lounge chair is inspired by the Ferrari Formula 1 racecar.  It’s made out of fiberglass and features chrome legs and an adjustable headrest.  Me likey.  Check out additional images (and a shot of it next to its inspiration) in the gallery below.

If you really, really love listening to music and want to hear all the sounds with absolute perfection you might want to invest in this $8,000 armchair.  It features a specially designed headrest that prevents the reflection of sound, memory foam that conforms to your body, open armrests for remote storage, and aluminum leg and frame that reduces sonic vibration.  I must as I would enjoy such a treat this Sweetspot will forever remain on my wishlist indefinitely.

Sink into the “Breathing Chair,” designed by Yu-Wing Wu.

There is a “trick” behind the design of various sizes of holes in the chair – based on professional calculation of the spatial structure, the tofu-shaped chair, coated with three layers of foamed plastic, can “automatically adjust” according to the weight and posture of the person sitting on it.
