FreddieW is back and this time he’s brought us a super cool look at what Super Mario would play like if it were a 3D first-person perspective game. Besides the slick animations, what makes this video even more spectacular is that it offers you two perspectives at once; you can follow Mario’s journey through World 1-1 in the reimagined first-person mode and in the top-left corner you can watch the plumber do it the old fashioned way. Neat-o.
On September 13, 1985 the most beloved video game character, and our favorite little plumber, was born. Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan and, well, the rest is history. Relive the magic and mayhem in the heavily nostalgic retrospective video above.
Watch as Japanese violinist Teppei Okada masterfully plays the iconic soundtrack and gameplay sounds from Super Mario Bros.!
Look! It’s a Super Mario live wallpaper for Android (v2.1 or greater) devices! How awesome is that?
