AR-Tee brings augmented reality magic to your chest

The concept is simple, really.  You’ve seen it before.  With the AR-Tee, designed by Sebastian Merchel, you can watch content inside that TV graphic thanks to the trick of augmented reality.  Printed inside the TV graphic is a custom-made QR code that gets read by your webcam.  When you hold up the t-shirt to your webcam you’ll see some old cartoons play on your computer screen.  It may not blow your mind, but it should make you the life of a party.  Look after the break to watch the magic happen.  Click here to find the AR-Tee in your size.

Cudder roundup: Short film “Maniac” short film, LNWJF perfomance, ‘Wizard’ collab w/ Dot Da Genius, Bape t-shirt

Bunch of Kid Cudi news, so it’s roundup time.  First up is news that actor Shia LaBeouf (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Transformers) is set to direct a short film based on Cudi’s Man on the Moon II track “Maniac.”  Cage and St. Vincent are featured on the joint, and according to Rap-Up.com Cage is friends with LaBeouf and asked for his assistence to helm the video.  LaBeouf had previously directed Cage’s music video “I Never Knew You” back in 2008.  While you’re waiting for this video to drop, jump after the break to watch Cudi perform “Maniac” with The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  There you’ll also find photographic proof that the Cudi/LaBeuf collab is actually going down.

Speaking of collabs, Cudi has publically announced that he is forming a rock band with close friend and producer Dot Da Genius.  They are calling themselves ‘Wizard.’  When Cudi picked up the guitar for the very first time he became fascinated with the instrument and surprised himself by how quickly he picked up on playing chords.  He says that three songs for the album have been completed, and he’ll continue to record more songs on the tour bus as he and Dot make “college runs.”

Last, but certainly not least.. To celebrate the release of his sophomore album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, Cudi has teamed up with Bape again to sell a BAPE x Kid Cudi Rager t-shirt.  The tee will sell in black and white variants and like always will be limited in quantity.  If you want one plan on camping outside the Soho Bape store in NYC on November 9, the same day the album hits stores.  And who knows, maybe Cudi will swing by and make an appearence.

Augment your reality: T-shirt edition

T-Post, a monthly magazine that packs a t-shirt with every issue, celebrates their 51st issue with an interactive tee that plays the classic game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with you.  How does it work?  With the aid of augmented reality tech, of course.  All you have to do is put on the shirt, sit in front of a webcam, run T-Post’s webapp, and watch as a spooky hand flies out of the screen waiting to repeatedly play Rock-Paper-Scissors with you.  See it in action for yourself in the video above.

Kid Cudi x Bape collaboration hits stores and the web this week

BAPE recently announced they are dropping yet another Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt.  This time it reads “Take another shot or you’re soft!  Rage!”  What’s different about this release is that it may actually be possible to snag one of ’em.  You have two ways to purchase the $80 tee: you can wait in line at the NYC Soho BAPE store on Saturday, January 23 or you can order it online Wednesday, January 20 at noon.  UPDATE: You guessed it–all sold out online.  Good luck on Saturday!

Kid Cudi x Bape t-shirt, part deux

Rapper Kid Cudi has collaborated again with Bape to create a new Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt.  Same as before, the release is extremely limited and will only be available at one location.  If you want to get one of these, get ready to stand in line at the Bape store in Los Angeles on December 20 at noon.  Cudi will be there to sign autographs.  The t-shirt sports the same design as the NYC release, except that the cartoon Kid Cudi is now wearing a grey hoodie (from red) and a Baby Milo tee.  Also, the back of the shirt says, “General Cudder says…. Take another shot or you’re soft! Rage!”  If you are in the LA area and want to cop one of these, be sure to get there extra early; take it from personal experience, someone who just missed getting a copy at the NYC Bape store earlier this year.

Update: Sold out.

Kid Cudi x Bape t-shirt unveiled, part of Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 10

Kid Cudi plans on celebrating the release of his first and highly anticipated album by releasing a limited edition Kid Cudi x Milo BAPE tee.  On September 10 from 6PM-9PM, the shirt will be sold at the Bape store in NYC with Man on the Moon: End of Day playing in the background.  This will be a first listen for fans who are awaiting the album’s September 15 release.  The shirt will be available only in black, sizes small to XX-large, and will likely cost $80.  See an image of the tee in the gallery below.  (It is quite different from the potential design leak reported last week.)  Let the line formation begin.

This special event is one among many happening on Sepempter 10 in NYC and around the world.  Fashion’s Night Out is a “global celebration of fashion.”  Many clothing designers and retailers will stay open late until at least 11PM hosting special events for shoppers.  The festivities are open to everyone.  Check out the official website for more information.

Potential Kid Cudi x Bape t-shirt design?

On September 15 clothes, sneakers, and accessory designer Bape will unveil a new t-shirt in collaboration with Kid Cudi in celebration of his new album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, which releases that day.  The image above has been spread throughout the Twitterverse and is the most likely candidate for the t-shirt design.  If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of these exclusive shirts, be prepared to wait on a long line outside the SoHo NYC Bape store on the 15th.
