Movie trailer round-up: ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, ‘Peanuts,’ ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ & more

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming back to the big screen in a live action/CGI film produced by Michael Bay (Transformers) and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans). Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are back and bigger than ever before–these CG turtles are massive in terms of sheer size. The big bad Shredder is played here by William Fichner and the TMNT will be battling his Foot Clan in New York City. Megan Fox also stars as April O’Neil, the famed fearless reporter who jarringly isn’t sporting red hair and a yellow raincoat for the reboot. The TMNT canon is being altered for this movie; the teaser reveals that Shredder and April’s father conspired to scientifically create heroes and thus were born the Turtles. Our heroes look strange but the action sequences look fun–it may not be the TMNT rebirth we were all expecting but that doesn’t mean you won’t go and see it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cowabunga into theatres August 8.

It was a blowout today as the Seattle Seahawks crushed the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. And now that it’s over let’s check out my favorite commercials that aired during the telecast–it’s tradition after all and it’s all after the break. Alternatively, you can view all the spots on YouTube.

Movie trailer round-up: ‘Gravity’, ‘Spider-Man 2’, ‘Catching Fire’, ‘Riddick’, ‘Ender’s Game’ & ‘Kick-Ass 2’

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star in the Alfonso Cuaron-directed space pic Gravity. It’s bring described as a “heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.” Bullock and Clooney play astronauts who get stranded beyond Earth when their spacewalk goes awry; they have limited oxygen and zero communication with our planet and therefore they must work together to survive. Following major conventions like CinemaCon and Comic Con, there is much buzz surrounding Gravity; you can experience what Con-goers saw right here. Above is the initial teaser trailer that released earlier in May; after the break you’ll discover a trio of teasers that expand on just how intimate and thrilling this movie promises to be. In particular the seemingly “one-shot” teaser titled “Detached” will have you reeling when you witness Bullock’s character losing control and aimlessly float into the dark pit that is space. Chills, I tell you! Gravity opens in 3D and IMAX October 4.

First look: Spidey’s updated costume in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Courtesy of ComingSoon.net, here is our first look at Peter Parker’s updated costume as seen in the upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. You can compare the new, very comic book-like look to the first movie’s attempt at the web-slinger’s identity concealer. Most notably the eyes are significantly bigger and white, the black spider positioned across the chest has a new design, and the suit’s texture has changed.

Director Marc Webb’s Spidey sequel is set to release May 2, 2014 starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone once again, with new entires Dane DeHaan (as Harry Osborne), Jamie Foxx and Paul Giammatti (as villains Electro and The Rhino), and Shailene Woodley (Mary Jane Watson).
