Paging Dr. House

Poor little girl.  She can’t stop sneezing!

Why call on diagnostics extraordinaire Dr. Gregory House?  Because according to the TV doctor she is in fact not sneezing; rather this “sound coming of out her mouth” (my words) is a tick.  The mystery lies in how it all started just two weeks ago at a sleepover and why it hasn’t stopped since that fateful night.  Sound off in the comments below with your own diagnosis.

NASA finds wa-wa on our lunar sphere

Project Scientist Anthony Colaprete on the matter: “I’m here today to tell you that indeed, yes, we found water. And we didn’t find just a little bit; we found a significant amount.”

NASA shares: “If the water that was formed or deposited is billions of years old, these polar cold traps could hold a key to the history and evolution of the solar system, much as an ice core sample taken on Earth reveals ancient data.”

And my personal favorite: “In addition, water and other compounds represent potential resources that could sustain future lunar exploration.”

Future exploration means potential living spaces outside our own planet.  Just the idea of expanding Earth’s population onto other planets (or moons) provokes massive amounts of excitement.  To infinity and beyond!

Travis Barker remixes “Forever” (spoiler: it’s amazing)

Travis Barker (of Blink 182 fame) has gone ahead and remixed another song (adding to his repitoire that includes Eminem’s 3AM, Lil Wayne’s Lollipop, and Solja Boy’s “Crank That”).  This time its Drake’s “Forever,” which features slick verses from Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem.  Says MTV News:

“Working strictly off an a cappella track, Barker crafted his “Forever” mix from the ground up, spending a week tinkering in the studio with his production partner, Sweatshop. The main goal, he said, was to build a drum line that matched the constantly shifting mood and tempo of the song…”

Man this guy’s good.

TIMBALAND IS BACK.  The famed and talented producer/musician Timbaland’s follow-up album to 2007’s Shock Value is the appropriately titled Shock Value II and it’s going to be off the hook, yo.  Timbaland is a master of beats and he is bringing his A-game yet again with tracks like “Morning After Dark.”  The album will feature talents DJ Felli Fel, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Katy Perry, The Fray, Daughtry, OneRepublic, Keri Hilson, and Miley Cyrus.  Look after the break for the full track list.  Shock Value II drops December 8.

Music video: Lady Gaga – “Bad Romance”

Some are calling Gaga’s latest video for her new single “Bad Romance” “her best yet,” and I tend to agree with these sentiments.  Though her music video for “Paparazzi” was very unique and stands out in its own way, “Bad Romance” just feels bigger and, well, better.  The costume designs, the choreography (with a nod to MJ’s “Thriller”), and the overall production design of it is flat out superb and entrancing.  Take a look for yourself and enjoy Gaga and her, erm, eccentric-ness.

CoD: Modern Warfare 2 launch was a HUGE success

And that’s an understatement.  In fact, IGN calls it “the biggest launch in the history of all forms of entertainment.”  And we’re talking about the video games industry here.  Good stuff!

On November 10 games publisher Activision released the latest installment in the coveted Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  After very positive initial reviews and a garnered hype spread by word of mouth and Twitter (MW2 quickly became (and still is) a trending topic).  In its first 24 hours on sale the game sold approximately 4.7 million copies in North America and the UK and made $310 million in sales.  DAY-UM!

Mike Griffith, CEO of Activision: “The Call of Duty franchise has become a cultural phenomenon showing the power of video games as an entertainment medium.”  “The shattering of these entertainment records is a testament to the compelling, cinematic and uniquely engaging experience that the Call of Duty brand delivers. Modern Warfare 2 has taken interactive experience to unprecedented heights setting a new standard for entertainment.”

Rumor alert: Project Natal gets priced, dated, and further detailed

Here’s the scoop, Coop.  Details surrounding the anticipatory launch of Microsoft’s codenamed Project Natal has apparently been leaked from a “behind-closed-door meetings in the UK between Microsoft and third party developers.”  According to the leak source, Natal will launch in November 2010 from a low, low price anywhere between $50-$80, thus making it quite the “impulse buy.”  Natal will come packaged with an initial set of 14 games.  Microsoft will manufacture 5 million units (that includes standalone and bundled-with-Xb0x 360s units) for a worldwide launch.  Pretty sweet if you ask me.
