Leeeeeeeroy Jenkinsssss
Now these are true and blue nerds. It’s a taping of a guild working together (or not working together) in the ultimate MMORPG World of Warcraft. This video captures what happens when a guild member decides to leave a guild meeting and attack the enemy by himself.
Three things stand out for me that are especially funny. (1) When the guild master (the leader of the group) is talking on his headset to the other members, he turns his character in the game as if his character in-game is actually talking to the other guys. (2) The entire guild reaction to Leroy’s attempt to go it alone. “GOD DAMNIT LEROY! YOU MORON.” Ha! (3) Leroy’s grand entrance (“Let’s do this…LEEEROY JENKINS!”) and epic fail (“It’s not my fault…”) And is Leroy crying in the end? This is a classic.
EPIC FAIL – I'm On a Boat, A Cappella
Funny? yes. Fail? even more yes.
The Man with No Shadow

‘The Man with No Shadow, by Makoto Tojiki, is a LED-based sculpture of a full size man. Unfortunately, Tojiki does not reveal much about his LED model. It was recently shown off at the Salone Satillite event in Italy. In any case, it is quite an awesome feat. In a way, it looks like a person caught mid-way transporting through the holodeck in Star Trek. Look after the break (click “more…”) for more images. Continue reading The Man with No Shadow

"Find My iPhone" feature is a life-saver
The new “Find My iPhone” feature apparently works exactly as advertised. If you are a member of Apple’s Mobile Me service and have a iPhone, you are entitled to a service that allows you to track the location of your iPhone if you happen to lose it. If you lose your phone, you can log onto your Mobile Me account from a PC or Mac and locate the exact location of your phone, as long as it is on and has a charge. You also have the option of sending it a personal text message that will make the phone emit an alert “beep” sound. So, for example, if you left your phone at a resturant, you can go on your computer, log into Mobile Me, find the location of your phone, and send it an alert message saying “IF YOU FIND ME, PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER TO RETURN TO OWNER.” And the alert goes off whether the phone is set on silent or not. Click here to read a real-life story involving this feature. Blogger Kevin Miller takes you on an exciting journey to find his lost (and stolen) iPhone. It’s a good read.

Eminem goes to rehab, brings us Relapse

Slim Shady is back. It has been four years since Eminem’s last studio album, Encore. Where has he been, you ask? Back in the summer of 2005, Eminem was forced to cancel the European part of his “Anger Management Tour” due to an addiction to sleeping pills. Later, he re-married and then re-divorced his ex-wife Kimberly Scott andhe lost one of his close friends and fellow rapper DeShawn Holton (who was shot). Due to all of this pain in his life, he “relapsed” and became addicted to many kinds of prescription drugs. This was a very dark period in his life. In 2007, he was hospitalized due to an overdose. After taking a 12-step program to rid his addictions, it has been reported that he has been sober since April 2008. And this is where the history lesson ends. Look after the break (click “more…”) for the full review. Continue reading Eminem goes to rehab, brings us Relapse
J.J. Abrams, my hero

J.J. Abrams is a true genius. He is a film and television producer, screenwriter, director, actor, composer, and founder of Bad Robot Productions. He is a visionary who relies on mystery and suspense to tell gripping tales of characters people can truly invest in. He is the creative mind behind TV shows Felicity, Alias, Lost, Fringe, and soon-to-be-aired Anatomy of Hope. He is also behind the incredible films Mission: Impossible III, Cloverfield, and Star Trek. According to the latest rumors, he plans to bring sequels to M: I, Star Trek, and Cloverfield in the near future. He will also be directing a novel-to-film adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” with Lost pals Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. The past, present, and future of Abrams’ career is always bright. His work is often filled with buzz-worthy news and tons of fan-fare. He is a unique figure in the entertainment business. He really understands the intricacies of mystery and how to perfectly manipulate the audience member so that he is brought to the edge of his seat, jaw-dropped, during the climax and then wholly satisfied at the conclusion. I am overly excited about what the future holds with J.J. Abrams at the top of his game. With Lost coming to an end after Season 6 and Fringe on its way to Season 2, I am positive he is well underway creating new mysteries to be witnessed and new characters to be introduced to. While I am enjoying the films and TV series that are currently released and on-air, respectively, I wait with open arms and an open mind to see what Abrams has up his sleeve next.
The Hangover

Hilarious movie. I laughed from the opening credits to the very last name listed during the end credits. No joke. This is a grade-A comedy. And for the record, Zach Galifianakis (the bearded man) steals the show. This is definitely a break out role for him. If you are of age (lots of curses, nudity), this is a must-see. I’m still laughing…HAHAHA.
