Augment your reality: T-shirt edition

T-Post, a monthly magazine that packs a t-shirt with every issue, celebrates their 51st issue with an interactive tee that plays the classic game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with you.  How does it work?  With the aid of augmented reality tech, of course.  All you have to do is put on the shirt, sit in front of a webcam, run T-Post’s webapp, and watch as a spooky hand flies out of the screen waiting to repeatedly play Rock-Paper-Scissors with you.  See it in action for yourself in the video above.

Kid Cudi x Bape collaboration hits stores and the web this week

BAPE recently announced they are dropping yet another Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt.  This time it reads “Take another shot or you’re soft!  Rage!”  What’s different about this release is that it may actually be possible to snag one of ’em.  You have two ways to purchase the $80 tee: you can wait in line at the NYC Soho BAPE store on Saturday, January 23 or you can order it online Wednesday, January 20 at noon.  UPDATE: You guessed it–all sold out online.  Good luck on Saturday!

Topless bikini is the best invention ever

Victoria’s Secret topless bikini may just be the best invention ever.  VS wants you to “go as bare as your dare in a sleek and sexy suit” with their latest spandex swimsuit.  It comes with a removable bandeau to cover up, but then what’s the point?  Also, I’m guessing that VS assumes all US women visit the beach with long golden locks of hair.  Watch model Lindsay Ellingson show it off in the video below.

Lady Gaga electrfies the pose, her most bizzare yet?

Lady Gaga’s latest photoshoot consists of these images that can be found in the limited edition copy of her re-release album, The Fame Monster.  This “zombie cyborg” look is almost as scary as her red-mesh face mask she wore when she accepted her VMA.  Oh, come on, you remember–bet you still have nightmares from it.

Glowy dress monitors pollution in the air

Climate Dress.  Designed by Diffus.

The inclusion of an Arduino Lilypad microprocessor, a carbon dioxide detector, and LED lights make this dress, well, very unique.  Stitched together using conductive embroidery, the LEDs are connected to the CO2 detector and light up when the dress interacts with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.  Glowing patterns range from “slow pulses to rapid flashes” depending on how much CO2 is detected.  Diffus representatives: It generate awareness of environmental issues through an “aesthetic representation of environmental data.”  I’ll say.

Japanese clothing company A Bathing Ape (Bape for short) is continuing its retail expansion with this latest opening in Singapore.  While there happens to be 18 Bape stores in its home country of Japan, Bape clothes and footwear are still very limited throughout much of the world.  The US only has two locations (in LA and NYC) and other stores can be found in Paris, London, Hong Kong, and Tapei.  Be sure to check out the images from opening night at the Singapore Bape store.  Also, don’t forget that there is finally a US version of the Bape website where you can browse and purchase the latest seasonal clothes and sneakers.

Kid Cudi x Bape t-shirt, part deux

Rapper Kid Cudi has collaborated again with Bape to create a new Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt.  Same as before, the release is extremely limited and will only be available at one location.  If you want to get one of these, get ready to stand in line at the Bape store in Los Angeles on December 20 at noon.  Cudi will be there to sign autographs.  The t-shirt sports the same design as the NYC release, except that the cartoon Kid Cudi is now wearing a grey hoodie (from red) and a Baby Milo tee.  Also, the back of the shirt says, “General Cudder says…. Take another shot or you’re soft! Rage!”  If you are in the LA area and want to cop one of these, be sure to get there extra early; take it from personal experience, someone who just missed getting a copy at the NYC Bape store earlier this year.

Update: Sold out.

Mirrored shoes are some sort of fashion statement?

“Invisible Shoes.”  Designed by Andreia Chaves.

The “Invisible Shoes” are low-cut boots covered in asymmetrical mirrors that reflect the wearer’s surroundings and create a different optical effect with every step.

These mirrored shoes are only concept footwear for now.  But can’t you picture someone like Lady Gaga so wanting a pair of these?

Five finger toe shoes are all the rage this holiday season

scaled.2009-11-19 11.15.44

Pictured above is Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin.  At last week’s Google Chrome OS announcement he made a quick appearence sporting these outrageous shoes that have a place for all five toes to take comfort.  Vibram’s Five Fingers are “ultralight running/sports shoes with separate pockets for each toe.” Though they look quite unconventional, they are apparently great running shoes and are praised by CrunchGear.  If you’re interested in a pair, they go for about $75 and are available to order here.

The Beatles x Bape

Japanese clothing brand Bape has teamed up with Apple Corp. Ltd. to fashion out new Beatles-inspired Bape t-shirts, sweaters, and coin pouches.  This follows Apple Corp. Ltd.’s collaboration with COMME des GARCONS that features Beatles-branded t-shirts and bags.  The latter collab is expected to sell later this month, but there’s no word on the Bape set.  With The Beatles Rock Band and now all these clothes it seems like The Beatles are taking over yet again.  Fine by me.
