‘The Following’ teaser hints at new love for Ryan Hardy, and then darkness

Kevin Bacon’s Ryan Hardy seems to be in a really good place when the third season of The Following picks up. In this first look at the new season he’s seen getting lovey-dovey with new romance Zuleikha Robinson (Lost, Intelligence). But this being a serial killer thriller and all, the quiet moment doesn’t last. “Where there was hurt, there’s comfort. Where there was dark, there’s light,” narrates Hardy. And then BLAM, cut to black and screams and the shadowy title card.

The most depressing bit of this tease is that we see Hardy’s niece Max Hardy with another man as Mike Weston looks on with a tinge of remorse. WHAT HAPPENED THERE?!

The Following returns in January on FOX.

‘The Newsroom’ season 3 teaser

The third and final season of Aaron Sorkin’s HBO political drama The Newsroom premieres this November. To kick off the hype train the premium cable network released this “Copier Tease” starring a Xerox machine printing out actual (?) script pages from the new season. The big shocker: Jeff Daniels’ Will McAvoy utters “Well…I think it’s time for me to quit.” Is the face of ACN ready for retirement? Watch then discuss below.

‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ lands early October premiere, extends two teasers [Update: new teasers inside!]

We have a date! The Freaks come to town in the next iteration of Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series on October 8. The network also released a tantalizing description of the upcoming season:

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

And if that wasn’t enough, there are two brand new teasers hyping the big premiere. Above, a haunting creature extends an invitation to the Freak Show. After the break, a mustached man licks a lollipop; any more detail would ruin the surprise!

As we approach AHS: FS’s October premiere date there’s bound to be more where this came from. I wonder what other Freaks we’ll be introduced to next…

Update (8/28): And just like that, two new teasers involving a three-legged acrobat and a caged woman are chilling after the break awaiting your dissection.

Update 2 (8/30): A fifth teaser surfaced today featuring a contortionist; with three legs is she the acrobat we were acquainted with before?

Update 3 (9/4): Three more! A twisted mask, a scary clown, and a sword swallower star. And no, that is not Lorde in the “Twisted Smile” clip; it’s Amanda Jenssen.

Update 4 (9/12): A new teaser titled “Big and Small” includes a giant and a little person. Continue reading ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ lands early October premiere, extends two teasers [Update: new teasers inside!]

Hannah rides a bike in brief tease at ‘Girls’ season 4

There’s not much here, but for fans of HBO’s Girls anything is something. Star Lena Dunham rides a bike clumsily in this season 4 tease. When we last saw Hannah Horvath she decided to ditch NYC to participate in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Might this be her failed attempt to make it to class? Hannah’s story continues when Girls returns to HBO early next year.

Mini teaser: AMC’s ‘Better Call Saul’

Here’s your very first look at Bob Odenkirk as lawyer Jimmy McGill, the protagonist of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s Breaking Bad spinoff/prequel series. As we already know, Better Call Saul takes place six years before the Saul meets Walter White; it will take time before McGill transforms into criminal lawyer “Saul Goodman” audiences have come to know and love. This is the teasiest of teasers clocking in at a mere 10 seconds, but the clip does just enough to remind viewers of Odenkirk’s magic plus we get premiere timeframe: February 2015. Let the countdown begin.

Update (8/24): Gilligan & Gould talk Saul in a new teaser embedded after the break. Continue reading Mini teaser: AMC’s ‘Better Call Saul’

TV teaser: Sleepy Hollow season 2

Sleepy Hollow returns with great force this September; at the end of last season’s thrill ride Detective Abbie Mills was locked in purgatory, Ichabod Crane was buried alive, and it was revealed that all along the enigmatic John Noble was not just some sin eater but actually Ichabod and Katrina’s son Jeremy (who also happens to be the Horseman of War). The brief yet oh-so-tantalizing teaser embedded above previews “war” coming to Sleepy Hollow, as does this hot poster making its debut at Comic Con. But, as the cleverly sinister Jeremy Crane said in his most epic diatribe during the final minutes of last season’s finale: “War isn’t coming to Sleepy Hollow; it’s been here all along.”

Sleepy Hollow returns Monday, Sept. 22 at 9PM on Fox.

Oh, and look, new cast photos!

‘Hannibal’ season 2 trailer will whet your appetite and then some

The best series on TV you’re not watching is Bryan Fuller’s adaptation of Thomas Harris’ novel Red Dragon and his take on the famed fictional serial killer who eats his victims, Hannibal Lector. From the brilliant cast led by Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy (who play the nefarious Dr. Lector and gifted FBI profiler Will Graham, respectively) to the stunning cinematography, NBC’s Hannibal is one of the most compelling and thrilling dramas on TV today. Despite poor ratings last year, the Peacock miraculously renewed Fuller’s show for a second season and here we have our very first taste (or apéritif, if I may) of what’s in store. At the end of season 1 Fuller took fans on an unexpected turn by placing Graham behind bars letting the public think that he committed Hannibal’s heinous crimes.

Enjoy the masterfully cut trailer hanging above. After the break, a tantalizing teaser. Hannibal is back February 28. Continue reading ‘Hannibal’ season 2 trailer will whet your appetite and then some
