Michaela Watkins, Casey Wilson leaving SNL

Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson were newcomers to Saturday Night Live.  Their comedy potential was just rising as they were axed from the show by creator Lorne Michaels yesterday.  Watkins will be remembered for her “bitch, pleeeeze” character, Kathy Lee’s counterpart Hoda Kotb, and her spot on portrayal of Barbara Walters.  Wilson’s Cougar Den sketches and celebrity impressions will also missed from the show.

In related news, Abbey Elliot will remain on the show, and two new cast members have been added to arsenal: Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad (see below).

The Sarah Connor Chronicles back for more!?

The nail has not yet sealed the coffin for fans of the Terminator: TSCC series.  Star Thomas Dekker (who played John Connor) revealed that the show’s producers have been discussing a TV movie that will bring some closure for those who were SO dissapointed by the cancellation of the promising-turned-brilliant series.  Dekker: “They’ve spoken about doing a TV movie.  Well, not a TV movie, but kind of like a direct-to-DVD movie.  Obviously it’s difficult because the show is based on a movie and they just had one come out, so it’s kind of hard to make a movie with our show because everyone has kind of forgotten about us.  They’re hoping, at least when I spoke to (producer) James Middleton that’s where they are with it.”

Dekker is very mistaken to believe that fans of TSCC have “forgotten” about the show.  IGN puts it so appropriately: “the wounds are still fresh in the fanboy world.”  A TV (or direct-to-DVD) movie or any type of additional footage would be a dream come true for fans and I look forward to hearing more about this in the near future.

Megan Fox is hosting the season premiere of SNL

Life and Style picked up the scoop from “an insider close to the star” that Megan Fox will be the host of the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.  The source says, “Megan is psyched to have gotten this opportunity.  She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience.  This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills, as she’s launching her new movie Jennifer’s Body [on Sept. 18].”  The source also hinted that she will star alongside funnyman Andy Samberg in the season’s first SNL Digital Short.  I am so excited, I cannot wait for–…and I just jizzed in my pants.  Be sure to catch the 34th season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26 on NBC.

Patricia Heaton dumb at math on Millionaire

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” with Regis Philbin is back with brand new episodes on ABC.  The end of each episode is saved for a special round where a celebrity sits in the hotseat to answer one question for $50,000; that money will go to the celebrity’s charity of choice.  Here we have Everybody Loves Raymond’s Patricia Heaton who receives a simple math question.  Her initial reaction and the way she handles the question is HA-larious, and quite sad.  Funny thing is, I’d probably have the same reaction if I saw that question…
