Rihanna joins Kanye West & Paul McCartney for new ditty “FourFiveSeconds”

When Kanye West dropped “Only One,” an emotional track featuring keyboard improvisation by The Beatles’ Paul McCartney, we knew this was just the beginning. In fact, a press release at the time stated, “[The track] will be the first publicly available recording from what has become a prolific musical collaboration between these two legendary artists.” In a surprise move, however, the next West/McCartney collab comes out of Rihanna’s camp, not West’s. Today the Barbadian singer released a fresh song called “FourFiveSeconds” and interestingly none of the three artists are labeled as being featured guests. iTunes merely reads “Rihanna and Kanye West and Paul McCartney.” Whether the song lands on RiRi’s followup to Unapologetic or gets tagged with “Only One” on West upcoming seventh studio album is anybody’s guess. For now, preview and download the track at iTunes. It’s soft and acoustic, with Rihanna adding a bit of a country flair with her vocals. She harmonizes with West, who again leaves rapping behind here and sings with auto-tune assistance. McCartney strums a cool guitar all the while.

Eminem revisits his past in “Monster” music video

“Monster” is the fourth single off Eminem’s successful MMPL2 following “Berzerk,” “Survival,” and “Rap God.” Featured artist Rihanna joins Em in a trippy therapy session for the “Monster” music video directed by Rich Lee. The clip is quite cool, actually; Em borrows from Chris Nolan’s Inception and takes a trip down memory lane as he rides down a mysterious elevator that calls back and even recreates music videos of the past and many high points from the rapper’s long career (remember when he performed with Elton John at the Grammys in 2001?). Hit play and relive it.

Rihanna’s got a new hit single in “Diamonds”

Before her previous album’s single leave the radio Rihanna is already back with a new one that’s off her upcoming still untitled seventh studio album. Her next radio hit is called “Diamonds” but unlike her previous smashes “We Found Love” and “Where Have You Been” this one features a more subtle beat (from producers Stargate and Benny Blanco) and a more mature RiRi (“Find light in the beautiful sea/I choose to be happy/You and I, you and I/We’re like diamonds in the sky”, written by Sia).

Rihanna shed light on the inspiration behind the track. “You’re not sad or dancing. You’re happy and hippie. It’s laid-back, but it’s hopeful. It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it’s about love and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I’m excited to surprise them sonically.”

Take a listen above; download at iTunes. Could this be a softer, reinvigorated Rihanna stepping into the spotlight? She is rolling diamonds into a joint in the single artwork… Her next album is due out later this year.

Music videos: Drake – “Take Care” (Featuring Rihanna) & “HYFR” (Featuring Lil Wayne)

Drake has released not one but two music videos featuring songs off his second studio album Take Care. Embedded above is the clip for the very popular radio banger “Take Care” and it brings the Canadian rapper together with featured guest Rihanna. Director Yoann Lemoine (Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”) goes the artsy route and clashes an intimate Drake and Rihanna coupling with slo-mo shots of a bull, a bird, and snowy mountaintops. After the break you’ll find the music video for the more upbeat “HYFR”, which stands for Hell Yeah F**king Right. Featured artist Lil Wayne and other Cash Money members join Drake as he celebrates his Jewish heritage. Music video: Rihanna – “We Found Love”

Rihanna’s catchy dance track “We Found Love” now has a music video to go along with it. The Calvin Harris-produced lead single off RiRi’s upcoming sixth studio album Talk That Talk hit the radio earlier this month and quickly became a chart-topping hit. The clip embedded above features trippy visuals and contains too many jump cuts if you ask me. The Barbadian sex symbol doesn’t take much time to strip in front of her boy toy in this one. Pump up the volume and mash play to watch Rihanna let loose. Talk That Talk is due out next month.

Rihanna teams with Britney Spears for “S&M” remix

One of the most popular songs of 2011 now has a Rihmix. The song now includes nasally vocals from the Femme Fatale–that’s right, it’s Britney bitch.

“I asked my fans last week who they really wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was one of the most popular names,” RiRi told New York’s Z100 show host Elvis Duran. “Britney doesn’t do features, and it was really amazing that she wanted to be a part of this song.”

Clearly the original version is better since the song does not need Britney’s touch, but if you’re a fan of the comeback pop star the remix is definitely worth a listen. Watcha think? If you like it that much, you can find it on iTunes.

Music video: Kanye West – “All of the Lights” (Featuring Rihanna & Kid Cudi)

The music video for Kanye West’s All of the Lights has arrived. ‘Ye tapped long-time collaborator Hype Williams to direct, and he also managed to bring featured artists Rihanna (her supple breasts) and Kid Cudi into the mix. The video plays out in a unique manner. It begins in black-and-white, following a little girl walking around a city while the interlude plays behind her. The interlude fades out about one minute in, bright colors frantically flash over the still girl, and the vocals come begin. Before West, Rihanna, and Cudder show up, RiRi belts out the chorus as the corresponding lyrics fill up the screen in various colors, shapes, sizes, and style. After Cudi concludes his bit, the horns come back and we are left without an appearance from Fergie. The chorus sounds again along with the stylized words, and then the video name drops all of the song’s contributors including John Legend, Charlie Wilson, Tony Williams, Alicia Keys, and La Roux. The final fifteen seconds involves a barrage of–what else–flashing lights. If you haven’t picked up My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy yet, what is wrong with you?

Music video: Rihanna – “What’s My Name” (Featuring Drake)

You won’t find anything too extraordinary about this Philip Andelman-directed music video, but I gotta take a time-out to support my girl Rihanna.  Her third studio album Loud releases physically and digitally November 16.  See the tracklist here, and watch the music video for the lead single “Only Girl (In the World)” here.  Good to see RiRi back in full form; not that Rated R was a let down (in fact it was quite good)–I’m just happy she’s found a way out of the depressing times that dominated her music post-Chris Brown incident.

So you know that Stargate-produced headbanger that you can’t stop listening to?  Well know it’s been issued a music video, ready for your viewing pleasure above.  Watch Rihanna belt out her latest single and frolic among flowers in a field in “Only Girl (In the World)“.  Care-free, up-beat RiRi is back.  Her next studio album LOUD! releases November 12.

Seacrest debuts new Rihanna single [Update: iTunes DL link]

Are you a fan of Rihanna’s music?  If you answered “yes” in your mind (or out loud if you’re that enthusiastic) then you’ll more than likely dig her brand new single called “Only Girl (In The World)”.  Ryan Seacrest debuted the track yesterday on his radio show.  Stargate, who also helped Rihanna make “Please Don’t Stop the Music” and “Hate That I Love You” into smash hits, also produced this track.  Though it’s not yet available to download on iTunes just yet, Seacrest has it streaming at his site.  Take a listen and share your thoughts in the comments below.  Rihanna’s upcoming fifth studio album Loud promises to take a detour from the sullen Rated R theme (think “Russian Roulette”) and head straight back into RiRi’s upbeat, fun roots (think “Umbrella” ella, ella).  Loud‘s expected release date is November 16.

Update: Def Jam has released the cover art for the single.  She’s totally nude under that dress!  And look at that long red hair!

Update 2: Today (9/14) the single has landed on iTunes.  And it’s already climbing the Top Ten chart (currently it’s at spot #4).  Purchase and download it here.
