Parks & Rec‘s Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) at his finest. And then there’s Jerry, always messing things up.

Keifer heads to the OR, 24 halts production

Actor Keifer Sutherland suffered a ruptured cyst late last week and is headed to the OR for a minor operation to fix things up. And since he’s the star of 24, the production team was forced to hault production until his return. Fortunately his predicament involves a quick procedure, so Sutherland should be back to shoot the remainder of Day 8 within a matter of a few days. Says his publicist: “While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and FOX decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now.” I think Jack Bauer can handle it.

Watch the latest Lost episodes online with cast/crew commentary

This is pretty slick. Check it– So you all know that Lost airs Tuesdays at 9PM on ABC. You are also probably aware that before each episode (at 8PM) ABC airs the previous week’s episode in “enhanced” form, meaning it’s a repeat of the episode that includes scrolling text at the bottom of the screen that reveals hidden easter eggs and the like that you may have missed during your first viewing. ABC is going one step further this season; now you can watch Lost episodes online that feature cast and crew commentary along the way. Think it of as DVD commentary, but it’s text based and scrolls alongside the video player. So far the premiere episode (LA X, parts 1 & 2) features commentary by Daniel Roebuck (Dr. Artz) and “What Kate Does” features Rob Kyker, Lost prop master. For all you crazy Lost fans out there, this is quite a treat. Now you can watch the episode as it airs on Tuesdays, watch the enhanced version the following week, and following along with cast and crew commentary online. Click here to access the Lost video player. You’re welcome.

Human Chain
Nike is back with an all new baller commercial for its Sportswear products. Per usual, the production team does not disappoint. The new mantra? “Everybody gets knocked down, how quick are you going to get up?”
Drake in “Spark” Sprite commercial
I caught this a couple times during NBA All-Star weekend. It’s just so freakin cool.
The Showdown
LeBron James and Dwight Howard star in this remake of the 1993 Super Bowl commercial The Showdown, which featured hall-of-famers Michael Jordan and Larry Bird in trick-shot competition for a Big Mac and fries. Look after the break for the 1993 version.

How To Make It In America premieres tonight on HBO

How To Make It In America, the new series from writer Ian Edelman and executive producers Mark Wahlberg (Entourage), Rob Weiss (Entourage), and Stephen Levinson (Entourage) — premieres tonight (2/14) at 10PM on HBO. It’s a story that “follows two enterprising Brooklyn twentysomethings as they hustle their way through New York City, determined to achieve the American Dream.” Since a handful of the staff comes from Entourage you can expect the show to have a similar vibe but with stark differences; it’s set in New York City, the main set of characters start at the bottom and work their way up to success and fame, and instead of dealing with the entertainment industry, this seres is grounded in the fashion scene. To learn more about the show, check out my previous two posts.
Look after the break for a ton of HTMINA content, including a new trailer, a conversation with stars Bryan Greenberg and Scott “Kid” Mescudi, and a behind-the-scenes ‘making-0f’ video. HBO collaborated with with Kid Cudi, DJ Green Lantern, and Broke Mogul to create a HTMINA official mixtape. It includes tracks from Dan Black, Chromeo, Lupe Fiasco, Styles P, and Phoenix. Click here to listen to and download the (free) mixtape, and look after the break for the track listing.
UPDATE: If you missed the premiere episode you can watch it in its entirety at YouTube. WATCH IT HERE.

WE ARE THE WORLD
Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) “We Are The World 25 For Haiti”, in which [Quincy] Jones and [Lionel]Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti. Director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) filmed the recording.
This 2010 version of “We Are The World” features over 80 artists and performers. And they all rocked it. Question is, how does it compare to the original 1985 recording? They they differ in artist makeup they share the same goal–to raise awareness about a major global disaster that needs support from all of us. In 1985, Richie and Michael Jackson wrote the song to bring attention to famine and disease in Africa; this time it was made to rally the world to give a helping hand to Haiti that suffered many casualties and was left in ruins after a massive earthquake. If you haven’t done so already, donate what you can to a Haiti relief fund. You can download the song and video for “We Are The World 25 for Haiti” on iTunes. Look after the break for two videos that feature interviews with some of the participating atists.
