Touch DJ turns your iPhone/iPod touch into a highly functional turntable

Amidio has created the “world’s first” true DJ software for the iPhone and iPod touch with Touch DJ.  This app allows you to use your own MP3 or M4A files to create your own DJ mixes; this includes the ability to scratch and loop as well as manipulate positioning, equalization, effects, and pitch.  Very neat stuff.  Touch DJ is available in the App Store right now for $19.99.  Peek after the break for a demonstration.

Discover new music: kent – “Töntarna”

kent hails from the great land of Sweden.  There they are a very popular alternative rock group.  They’ve actually been around since the 90’s, but with their latest turn to indie electro-pop things are starting to heat up again for this eclectic group.  EW compares them to the “likes of MGMT, Friendly Fires, Phoenix” with an electro-pop flair, and I couldn’t agree more.  “Töntarna” is the first single off their forthcoming album tited Röd.  It’s available for preorder at Amazon.  Check ’em out!

Dr. Horrible one-shot comic out now!

You’ve already had the chance to preview the comic but now it’s finally here.  If you have been waiting for a Dr. Horrible fix this is it!  The Dr.H comic is written by Zack Whedon (yes, creator Joss’ brother) and the art is by the talented Joelle Jones.  It’s forty pages in length.  And it costs a measly $3.50.  What are you waiting for?

From the Joss Whedon-helmed webmovie Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog comes the origin story of the next greatest supervillain of all time . . . DR. HORRIBLE!

In this one-shot comic, Zack Whedon and artist Joelle Jones (Token) establish how a young, impressionable, but brilliant Dr. Horrible was drawn into a world of crime. Readers are reacquainted with the charming, brawny, crime-fighting superhero extraordinaire Captain Hammer when Dr. Horrible crosses paths with his greatest enemy in an all-out showdown of immeasurable proportions. Special guest appearances include Dr. Horrible’s love interest, Penny; his sidekick, Moist; and a meter man.

And the word of the year is… “UNFRIEND”

“unfriend” – verb – “To remove someone as a ‘friend’ on a social networking site such as Facebook.”

That’s right, folks.  The word “unfriend” is the word of the year, according to the Oxford American Dictionary.  And get this–it beat out the words netbook, hashtag, and sexting, among others.

This is just silly, ain’t it?

47-inch HD multitouch table

The Evolce ONE features a 47-inch full high definition LCD multitouch display and can recognize an unlimited number of touch points.  It also has haptic feedback.  It can run Windows 7 and it is compatable with all of 7’s multi-touch capabilities.  Check out an additional hands-on video after the break, as well as the official press release.

The Beatles x Bape

Japanese clothing brand Bape has teamed up with Apple Corp. Ltd. to fashion out new Beatles-inspired Bape t-shirts, sweaters, and coin pouches.  This follows Apple Corp. Ltd.’s collaboration with COMME des GARCONS that features Beatles-branded t-shirts and bags.  The latter collab is expected to sell later this month, but there’s no word on the Bape set.  With The Beatles Rock Band and now all these clothes it seems like The Beatles are taking over yet again.  Fine by me.
